Academic achievement, with impressive results at GCSE, A Level and Oxbridge and university entrance, the school provides extensive extra-curricular opportunities encompassed in its known as ‘The Other Half’ that the school offer 150 extracurricular activities including sports for rowing, rugby union and cricket and non-sporting activities of i.e the Debating Society, production of multiple publications, creation by Abingdon Film Unit, it’s the cerebral challenges of chess or the thrill of playing in an orchestra, musical and choral ensembles, Art and DT activities, Pilates to podcasting for the 21st century workplace. And the facilities are world-class, with a charming boathouse on the river, a competition-standard 25-metre indoor pool and pitches to suit any sporting.

Those who join us from overseas as boarders enjoy our excellent boarding facilities, which are available from our Third Year when students are aged 13+.Overseas pupils with appropriate visa status are very welcome to join us as dayboys in our Lower School from age 11 and at our Prep School from age 4. The age of overseas pupils on entry to the School in September: First Year – between 11 and 12 years (day students only), Third Year – between 13 and 14 years, Fourth Year – between 14 and 15 years, Sixth Form – between 16 and 17 years

Our academic credentials are excellent with the vast majority of pupils leaving to their first choice of university, predominantly Russell Group, and an impressive percentage each year to Oxbridge and to top U.S. and international universities. Sixth formers receive careers guidance and support from specialist staff with extensive experience of the further education entry process.
